The Suzhou Toy Museum has been upgraded recently to allow each generation to find the toys that shaped their childhood.

In the exhibition hall newly opened on the second floor, there are a vast collection of traditional toys from the last century and even earlier eras, from the replica of Song Dynasty clay figurines to Chinese ring puzzles and tangrams. Behind these toys are historical archives guiding the viewers to delve deeper into the evolution of Chinese toys.

There are also many modern toys, including the Labubu, a Pop Mart plush toy that has caused a frenzy worldwide recently.

Among the displays are also diverse action figures and collectibles of Marvel and other comic franchises, and also many rare retired LEGO sets.

The exhibition on the first floor has been improved, with “trains” running on the track hanging from the roof, passing by many “tiny animals”.

In addition to over 10,000 toys, the museum offers a special line of cultural and creative products. Among them is the mechanical wind-up metal frog toy with colorful candies, and the plush Yangcheng Lake hairy crab which can read poems and tell stories.

The museum also offers children opportunities to experience cooking.
